# What You'll Need:

→ Crostini

01 - 1 fresh baguette
02 - 2 tbsp olive oil

→ Vodka Butter

03 - 7 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
04 - 1 ½ tbsp vodka
05 - ¼ tsp fine sea salt
06 - 1 tsp lemon zest
07 - 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh chives
08 - Freshly ground black pepper to taste

# Directions:

01 - Set oven temperature to 400°F for optimal toasting.
02 - Cut the baguette into 12 uniform slices, approximately ½ inch thickness using a serrated knife.
03 - Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet. Brush both sides of each slice lightly with olive oil.
04 - Bake for 6–8 minutes, flipping once halfway through, until slices achieve golden color and crisp texture. Allow to cool slightly.
05 - In a small bowl, whisk softened butter with vodka, sea salt, lemon zest, and chives until completely smooth and creamy.
06 - Spread a generous layer of vodka butter mixture onto each toasted crostini slice.
07 - Garnish with freshly ground black pepper and serve immediately while crostini remain crisp.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The vodka cuts through the rich butter creating an impossibly smooth finish that guests will obsess over
  • These come together in twenty minutes but taste like something from a fancy cocktail bar
02 -
  • Slightly under toast your bread rather than over, since the butter will soften it slightly and you want to maintain some structural integrity
  • The butter must be truly soft or you'll tear the bread trying to spread it, so take it out of the fridge at least an hour ahead
03 -
  • Room temperature ingredients are non negotiable here, cold butter will tear your beautifully toasted bread
  • Grate your lemon zest directly into the butter to capture all those fragrant oils that usually get left behind on the cutting board
